Two early birdies moved Carl Mason to seven under par after three holes on day two of the PGA Seniors Championship at Stoke by Nayland.
The joint first round leader started where he left off yesterday picking up shots at the par five 2nd hole and the short par three 3rd.
Bob Cameron also made an early move with birdies at three and four to go to six under par.
Meanwhile Sam Torrance was fighting a battle to avoid the cut, which would end his bid for a third successive PGA Seniors crown, after dropping four shots in the opening nine holes. Torrance double-bogeyed the fifth and added to his misery with bogeys at the 7th and 8th to slip to two over par for the tournament.
Three time Ryder Cup player Costantino Rocca tees off at 1.10pm with another Ryder Cup stalwart Gordon J Brand who are playing with Suffolk's Robin Mann.
Overnight joint leader Bruce Heuchan sets out in the third last group at 1.40pm.
