Midlands duo Adrian Carey and Matt Morris saw off a spirited fight back from Andrew Sherbourne and David Hutton to win the Glenbrae PGA Fourball Championship supported by SkyCaddie by just one shot.
Carey (Walmley) and Morris (Hatchford Brook) led from day one at Fulford Golf Club in York after shooting a stunning round of 14-under par on Wednesday.
A round of six-under on the second day dramatically reduced their lead, but their round of 65 on the final day was enough to see off the challenge of their playing partners, Sherbourne (Kendleshire) and Hutton (High Post), to claim the £5,000 first prize.
Morris flew through the back nine in six-under and it was his 18ft putt on the 18th that secured victory for the duo.
Afterwards a delighted Morris said: "I enjoyed it today for the first time, I don't think I've ever enjoyed it as much.
"We bogeyed the early par three and both missed the green and they started birdie, birdie par so you start to think they might peg back the lead. You're expecting that, though, because it's that kind of tournament.
"I've shanked it off the last tee and it's gone so far right that I've had to hit it from under a tree and it's gone perfect on the fairway and then on the green. And I was thinking we'd have that two putt for a play-off. You've got to think like that because you've got to expect them to make that putt for eagle.
Morris also lavished praise on the picturesque Yorkshire course where the Championship was held.
"It's a great golf course, it's not very often you get to play on courses like this, it was in great condition and the weather was beautiful," he added.
"It's such a tight course that you've got to golf your ball really well to get round. If you don't hit it off the tee well then you're going to be amongst the trees like I was on the last. You deserve to be having a shot at the green if you find the fairway.
"Shooting 58 on the first day was just awesome, it was a great week, we both enjoyed it and played well enough to win."
2005 winners Martyn Thompson (Parkstone) and Michael Watson (Weymouth) took a share of third place alongside PGA Cup stalwarts Darren Parris (North Foreland) and Mark Reynolds(Golf Centrum Noordvijk).
