The magnificent links of Royal St David's Golf Club will host the 2008 Ryder Cup Wales 2010 Welsh Open PGA Championship.
Among the field is expected to be defending champion Stephen Dodd who clinched last year's Welsh Open emerging victorious after a nerve-jangling play-off against Ian Walley.
The three time European Tour winner will again be the man to beat if as expected he takes his place in the £30,000 tournament from August 5-7.
St David's is widely regarded as one of the best links in Britain and former Open Champion Bob Charles described it as one of the purest tests in golf.
"I love links golf and it doesn't get much purer than here at Royal St. David's," he said.
"It's a great course, one of my favourites."
Steve Cox, PGA director of golf, said: "It has always been our intention to play our premier Championships on the best courses in Wales and we are delighted that with Royal St David's we have been able to continue this trend.
"I'm in no doubt that it will provide a fantastic test of golf and prove to be one of the highlights of the PGA tournament calendar in Wales."
Rob Holt, chief executive of RCW2010 added: "Once again, the Ryder Cup Wales Summer of Golf will bring an exciting season of world-class golf to the region and act as a show case for some of our best courses."
Under the imposing gaze of Harlech's mighty castle, St David's occupies the dune land between the rugged hillside and the Irish Sea with the majestic Snowdonian Mountains adding a dramatic backdrop.
The course is noted for a succession of long testing par fours plus five short holes, which vary in length and direction, with large, true greens a feature.
