Are Your Juniors the Best?

Published in:

A new initiative has been launched by the PGA and Glenmuir to find Great Britain and Ireland's top junior section.

Clubs from all over the country are encouraged to enter for the chance to win clothing from Glenmuir's new Golfing Kids range worth £1,000 and a plaque to display in the clubhouse.

The winning PGA professional will also be among the prizes as they will win £1,000.

Awards will be made to the best junior sections in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales before an overall winner is selected.

These national winners will also be rewarded with Glenmuir junior shirts worth £750 and a £250 cheque for the club's PGA professional.

The awards will be presented at a PGA event in the winner's region with the overall award being presented at the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship, which this year will be staged at Moortown from July 29 - August 1.

"We know that an enormous amount of work goes on to promote golf to youngsters through the efforts of our PGA professionals and volunteers, both at their clubs and through the local community," said PGA chief executive Sandy Jones.

"Glenmuir and the PGA aim to recognise this work with the launch of the Glenmuir Junior Section of the Year award."

PGA members should already have received an application form to enter, but if they have not they should contact Laraine Beeching on 01675 470 333 or email laraine.beeching@pga.org.uk.
