James Crompton is the winner of the Skycaddie PGA Player of the Month award for April after starting his first full season with a bang.
The Kenilworth golfer, who qualified as a PGA member via the University of Birmingham's degree in Applied Golf Management Studies, earned the accolade for a string of fine displays sparked off by victory in the Midland Masters pre-qualifier at Kedleston Park.
Crompton then followed that up by qualifying for the Glazerite Trophy at Wellingborough before booking his place in the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship with a share of fourth place at the Little Aston qualifier.
Also worthy of praise was the Astley Golf Centre's Steve Parry who bulldozed to victory in the RCW2010 Welsh Open Young PGA Professionals Championship at Bull Bay.
Scotland's Scot Catlin put his name in the frame too with a strong start to the season while Ireland's Leslie Walker (Dundalk) performance in firing a 65 in the International Investment Bank PGA pro-am at Woodbrook earned him a mention in dispatches.
Also in contention was the East region's Gary Potter of Links Country Park and Hotel who steered 23-handicapper Pauline Ring to victory in the PGA East Region Searles Spring Classic.
Winner Crompton will receive a SkyCaddie SG 2.5 rangefinder as his prize. The Player of the Month award will run until October, with the winner named at the end of each month.
