Richard Finch, who if not exactly walking on water after his 18th hole soaking on course to his Irish Open win, is helping keep afloat a long held ambition of Sandy Jones.
The PGA chief executive has always harboured a dream that one day a former PGA Europro Tour player would make it all the way to the Ryder Cup team.
And after his second victory of the season at the Adare Manor, the Hull golfer could just be that man.
Finch's win has catapulted him up to fifth in the European Tour Order of Merit where he sits just outside the top 10 in the Ryder Cup standings.
"My dream for the Europro Tour has always been to one day see a player make it all the way to the Ryder Cup and perhaps with Richard we have our best opportunity yet," said Jones.
"For everyone associated with the PGA Europro Tour it was immensely rewarding to see Richard's superb victory and his success will give inspiration to all the current Europro players.
"The Europro Tour continues to go from strength to strength as we've just witnessed by Seve Benson's victory on the Challenge Tour just a few weeks after he won at Wensum Valley - the first event of this year's Europro schedule."
The 30-year-old Finch joins an impressive array of former Europro graduates to win at the very highest level, putting his name alongside those of Marc Warren, Phil Archer, Bradley Dredge, Scott Drummond, Simon Khan, and Stephen Dodd.
