Mathew Morris refused to let a soggy Wentworth dampen his spirits despite signing off with his worst score of the week.
The Midland player slumped to a final round 79 - the same score as playing partner and course-record holder Robert Dinwiddie - but remained upbeat and plans to use his experiences as a springboard for the rest of the season.
Morris was the leading PGA player but ultimately was left to reflect on a punishing quadruple bogey on the last hole on Saturday which took him from level par for the round to a 76 to add to his opening round 71 and second round 74.
But the 30-year-old remains determined to pluck the positives from his week at the £3.6m BMW PGA Championship.
"It's been a mega week. It was all very much about the first tee shot on the first day that's what I was looking forward to. That all went well," he said.
"Playing with Marc Warren and Steve Webster was brilliant too and I've had a great week.
"I've learnt a lot about my game too and that is that my bad shots aren't good enough really. It's kind of funny, I was driving the ball great today but my scoring was awful but it's one of those things I suppose.
"I haven't hit enough fairways to compete around here. I did alright to make the cut but to compete in the tournament and get it under par you've got to be consistently hitting fairways and I just haven't hit enough of them."
Morris returns to the Challenge Tour next week and then the Midland Pro-Am circuit but says he has plenty to get on with.
"I know what I need to work on, it's all positive, made the cut in a big tournament and have got some money on the way which is nice and I've learnt a lot about my game.
"I haven't got to do much, just work hard on the right things and I'll be fine."
