The first day's play at the Ryder Cup Wales 2010 Welsh National PGA Championship at Cardiff was abandoned after heavy rainfall left the course waterlogged.
Rivers of water rendered the tree-lined course unplayable and leaves tournament organisers hoping for better weather overnight in order to get play underway tomorrow.
The tournament - won last year by European Tour star Stephen Dodd - will now be reduced to 36 holes over Thursday and Friday, with the possibility of a cut after 18 holes dependant on the weather forecast.
Bad weather has plagued the national tournament season with the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship losing nearly two days due to flooding while the recent De Vere Collection PGA Seniors Championship came under threat due to sustained rainfall in the north east.
