Simon Lilly stormed to success in the California Classic to land a second successive victory in the American Golf Holiday Pro-Am Tour.

The Wellingborough pro maintained his fine form to withstand a late challenge from Cameron Clark who fired a final round 66 over the Indian Wells Celebrity Course at The Golf Resort.

However Lilly's 71 proved sufficient for a four round total of 13-under-par which gave him a one stroke triumph over his Moor Hall rival.

The reigning Midland Order of Merit built the platform for victory with earlier rounds of 70, 67, 67 played at three of California's finest courses - Desert Falls Country Club, The Classic Club and Desert Willow Firecliff Course.

First round leader James Ablett (Lee-on-the-Solent) finished five strokes adrift of Clark alongside Halfpenny Green pro Darren Prosser on seven-under-par.

The event is the second of seven AGH Pro-Am tours which runs until May 2009. For more details log on americangolfholiday.com
