Early Fireworks As Duo Shoot 59

A scorching second round from Anglo-Irish pair, Stuart Taylor and Pat Devine, looks set to guarantee a thrilling finale to the SkyCaddie PGA Fourball Championship supported by Sunderland.

The duo responded to the challenge laid down by overnight leaders Adrian Ambler (Walton Golf Centre) and Aran Wainwright (Mid Yorkshire) at Forest Pines by eclipsing the Yorkshire-based pair's first round 13-under-par.

Starting the second day of the £30,000 tournament at eight-under-par, Taylor (Island) and Devine (Royal Dublin) fired three eagles and eight birdies to record a 14- under-par round of 59 over the Lincolnshire course.

That made them the clubhouse leaders on 22-under-par at the midway stage of the second round, four shots clear of Andrew Sherborne (Kendleshire) and David Hutton (Hamptworth).
