CONDITIONS OF PLAY
Format

The Championship will be played over 54 holes of stroke play with 18 holes played each day.

Field Size

  1. The field for the Championship will be a maximum of 120 competitors.
  2. The field will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 40 competitors (and those who tie for the 40th place) will go forward to the final round.
  3. In the event of a tie for first place there will be a 'sudden death' play-off.
  4. There will be an 18-hole qualifying event in each of the seven PGA Regions. A minimum of ten qualifying places in the Championship are guaranteed for each Regional Qualifying Round. The remainder of places in the Championship will be divided between the Regional Qualifying Rounds and will be calculated as a percentage of the total entries. This will be done on close of entries.
  5. There will be an additional two spots available to the leading two Welsh Assistant Professionals from the 2008 Ryder Cup Wales 2010 Young Pros Championship who are eligible for the event.
