"I think he had a dodgy Chinese last night. He was up all night feeling very sick and was obviously struggling with his game and not feeling too well so he left us on the sixth green." - Luke Donald diagnoses playing partner Lee Westwood who was forced to withdraw after just six holes.

"British Open last year." Clubhouse leader Paul McGinley reveals the last time he felt so good after two opening rounds.

"Wednesday I couldn't hit any shots at all. - it's beware the injured golfer again. I pulled a muscle in my forearm and the physios worked very hard all day Wednesday, and managed to sort me out with some acupuncture. It's feeling fine now the last two days and I haven't felt it all." Miles Tunnicliff savours his recording equalling 65 and the wonders of acupuncture.

"I need to start contending in these bigger tournaments. I feel like I'm good enough to now so it's nice to actually produce that today and get right in there. There's only one thing missing from my resume, really, and it's just the win." Oliver Wilson, who has finished second on three occasions this season, was in confident mood after a second round 66.

"I'm not taking anything at the moment. With all of this drug testing coming in, I'm not taking anything." Miles Tunnicliff reveals he's steering clear of herbal remedies.

"There's a lot more to go before I can start reflecting on my career of what's happened or whether I've been unlucky or whether I haven't. Any guy who has had an opportunity to hole a winning putt in the Ryder Cup and then to hole it, it's very hard to say he's not lucky." Paul McGinley, leader at the halfway stage, sweeps aside suggestions that he's unlucky.

"If you start playing to get into the Ryder Cup, you're digging yourself a big hole so just focus on what I can do and then we'll see in September what's happening." Robert Karlsson, nine under for the tournament after a 69, is not getting ahead of himself in terms of the Ryder Cup.

"If you look at my swing on video compared to the end of last year, it's significantly better. It's just a case of keep working on it, keep trusting it and start playing rounds like that more often, I'll gain a lot more confidence and the game will seem easier again." Luke Donald is happy with his game after a second round 69.

"I don't know what I can put it down to as I felt fine through the first six or seven holes yesterday but didn't hit it very well. I was confident coming here and find the course OK. However it wasn't my week but it will be soon." Ant Tarchetti (Littlestone Golf Club) remains upbeat despite missing the cut.
