Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men, and exists in every golf club in the UK. The disease kills one man every 45 minutes in the UK - the time it takes to play three holes of golf.
Prostate Cancer UK aims to raise funds to invest in lifesaving research to stop men dying of prostate cancer, and to raise awareness of prostate cancer to men at highest risk - men over 50, black men and men with a family history of the disease.
That is why The PGA has chosen Prostate Cancer UK as it’s official charity partner and is committed to raising awareness to help beat the disease.
"The PGA is one of a number of sporting organisations we work with to reach men at risk. The disease affects 1 in 8 men (1 in 4 if you are black). That’s a father, brother, uncle, partner or best mate. Working with the PGA and its members through fundraising activities like The Big Golf Race and health awareness initiatives to reach the golfing community is how we will stop prostate cancer being a killer."
