Coronavirus Additional Restrictions Grant (“ARG”) – a Local Council Discretionary Grant which supports businesses that are not covered by other grant schemes or where additional funding is needed

Provides local councils with grant funding to support closed businesses that do not directly pay business rates as well as businesses that do not have to close but which are impacted.

Local councils have the freedom to determine the eligibility criteria for these grants, but they are intended to help businesses significantly affected by the restrictions, particularly in retail, hospitality and leisure.

In some instances, councils may choose to support businesses that require to close, but which do not pay business rates. This may be of relevance to some PGA Members.

Additional funding for councils announced on 4 March and these councils will make their own allocations in due course.

Deadlines for applications decided by local councils

PGA Members are advised to check local council websites regularly to identify Local Discretionary Grant funding opportunities.
