Two Ryder Cup venues are among a host of exciting courses that will feature on the 2014 Lombard Trophy regional final schedule.
Lindrick and The K Club, scenes of triumphant home victories in 1957 and 2006, are among another strong line-up for Europe’s largest pro-am.
The event, which attracted entries from more than 700 clubs last year, carries an £80,000 prize fund including £12,000 to the winning PGA pro at the Gleneagles showpiece final on the King’s Course in September.
PGA head of tournaments Simon Higginbottom commented: “We’re pleased to unveil another impressive line-up of regional final venues which feature some of the best courses in the UK including in The K Club and Lindrick two past Ryder Cup venues.
“The Lombard Trophy remains one of the stand out tournaments on the PGA schedule and it is a fantastic opportunity for a club professional and their amateur to compete against other clubs culminating in a lucky 16 reaching the grand final at Gleneagles.
“With an £80,000 prize fund including £12,000 to the winning pro, it is a fantastic event and I hope all our clubs take the opportunity to enter.”
Fulford Golf Club, where Bernhard Langer once famously hit a shot out of an Ash tree during a tour event, will tee off the 16 regional finals on Thursday, June 5.
The popular Ladybank and Crieff clubs will host the Scottish swing the following week before the tournament heads to Ireland where competitors will tread in the footsteps of Ian Woosnam’s victorious European team on the Palmer Course at The K Club.
Lancashire’s stunning Pleasington Golf Club, which dates back to 1891, will host the north west final on June 19 with Orsett and Kingswood completing the June schedule.
Old favourites Camberley Heath and Little Aston kick off proceedings on July 1 and 4 while on July 7 Lindrick takes centre stage. The Nottinghamshire course witnessed one of the most dramatic events in golf when Great Britain defeated the United States to win the Ryder Cup in 1957, the first time they had achieved it in 24 years. Also on the line-up are Parkstone, King’s Lynn and Coventry with Lambourne and Burnham & Berrow exciting new additions.
Dunham Forest wraps up the schedule on July 25 with the 16 finalists going through to compete at Gleneagles over 36 holes from September 2-3.
Richard Hemsley, Lombard’s managing director, added: "After a greatly successful tournament in 2013, we are looking forward to working with The PGA to launch the 2014 Lombard Trophy.
“The 2014 tournament is set to be another exciting competition with a number of great venues confirmed for the regional finals taking place through the summer.
“Additionally, we'd like to welcome back all past participants, and welcome those who are new to the Lombard Trophy."
