6 reasons to sign up for the 5th PGA Members’ International Conference

23/02/2024

The PGA of Great Britain & Ireland Members’ 5th International Conference is returning to Thailand in 2024, with The Banyan Tree Bangkok and the All Thailand Tour Golf Center at Riverdale Golf Club co-hosting the event from April 22-25.

Open to all PGA of GB&I Members around the world (including the UK and Ireland), the event includes a two-day conference (April 23-24), with delegates able to learn from a strong line up of guest speakers drawn from a wide section of the golf industry, as well as an opportunity to share experiences and meet with fellow PGA Members at a variety of informal social events.

Here are 6 reasons why it’s a must-book event for all PGA Members who are serious about their professional and personal development…

  1. GLOBAL GATHERING
As the only global event for PGA Members, the International Conference provides a unique opportunity to meet and network with a group of fellow Members from all over the world. Throughout the four days, delegates will have the chance to interact in various informal and formal settings to exchange ideas, make new contacts and expand their horizons both personally and professionally.

  2. WORLD-CLASS CONFERENCE LINE-UP
The two-day conference always offers an impressive line-up of keynote speakers drawn from a wide spectrum of the global golf industry. This year is no different, with leading Tour coach and ‘The Mind Factor’ founder Karl Morris being among the headline acts of a cast list of industry expert speakers that also includes Spencer Robinson (Chief Communications Officer - Asian Golf Industry Federation), Michael Moir (Founder & Managing Director - Fenix Apparel), Chris Geraghty (General Manager - Vattanac Golf Resort, Cambodia), DJ Flanders (Executive Vice President - TROON International), Carl Heaton (Marketing & Communications Specialist) and golf course architect Tim Lobb (Principal Lobb & Partners). In addition, David Rollo (Chief Operating Officer) Asian Tour and the team from Titleist Asia will also be presenting.

  3. SOCIAL EVENTS AND FLOODLIT GOLF
As well as enjoying hosted gala dinners and informal drinks parties, providing a chance for old friends to catch up and new acquaintances to be made, delegates will also have the opportunity to play the stunning Bangkok Golf Club under floodlights in a fun-format evening event, where prizes and bragging rights will be up for grabs.

  4. FIVE-STAR HOSPITALITY
And let’s not forget, The PGA’s 5th International Conference is being held in one of the world’s most exciting cities, Bangkok, providing Members with the chance to explore Thailand’s bustling capital and enjoy the five-star facilities on offer at the world-class Banyan Tree resort in balmy Spring temperatures.

  5. EXPAND YOUR CAREER HORIZONS
As well as an opportunity to learn from some of the golf industry’s most experienced professionals and grow your professional network, the International Conference offers the chance to advance your career, whether it be from the new contacts that you make or the chance encounters that may open new professional avenues and career opportunities.

  6. DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT…
Here’s what delegates at last year’s international conference had to say about the event…

“Having the opportunity to meet and network with PGA Members based in other countries, together with speakers covering a wide range of current and very relevant topics, made attending the PGA International Conference a very worthwhile couple of days. “Also meeting face-to-face with PGA staff and hearing first-hand the future plans for The PGA was extremely interesting. Since returning to my club, I have had further contact with several people I met through the conference and have no doubt that this will lead to really interesting projects for our staff and reciprocal agreements at other leading clubs.”

- Phil Helsby, Managing Director at The Dutch Golf Club, The Netherlands

“Learning from industry leaders and experts provided invaluable information and insights into best practices currently being used throughout the region. It was a thoroughly enjoyable conference and a great way to stay up to speed with The PGA and the latest developments in our association. The networking opportunity with our industry peers allowed the reconnection that was much missed during the pandemic.”

- Dean Nelson, Director of Sales & Marketing at St Andrews Bay, Scotland
