A message from PGA in Kent Captain Matt Ford

09/07/2024

Matt Ford has been elected as PGA in Kent Captain for 2024/2025. Here is a message from the new Captain.

Some of you may have already heard that we are in the process of taking the PGA in Kent back under our own umbrella and running our own tournaments.

PGA in Kent has been run by the South Region for many years and we have been given the opportunity to run it ourselves. We believe that this is an exciting opportunity for us, and hope that we can get the support from the PGA Members and Golf Clubs in Kent to make some great events.

As a committee we have some great plans and hope to grow the county schedule over the next few seasons, so that we have more playing opportunities for all of the membership.

We aim to have a variety of formats in the schedule, which will include some of our heritage events like the Kent Open, Kent PGA and Kent Matchplay along with a number of Pro-ams and Pro only sprint events. A small schedule for 2024 will be announced shortly, with bigger plans for 2025 to follow.

I am delighted to be Captain as we relaunch. We as a committee are looking forward to working with as many PGA in Kent members as possible to improve our county. It would be fantastic for as many PGA in Kent professionals to support these events to make them as successful as possible.

We will be looking for Venues and Sponsors so please don’t hesitate to contact me or any other committee members if you think you could help the PGA in Kent. We believe there are plenty of opportunities to make the future of the PGA in Kent bright.
