Adam Hodkinson returned to his native county to win the PGA North Assistants' Championship of Yorkshire at Northcliffe Golf Club.
The third year trainee professional at Chorlton-cum-Hardy made a perfect start to his round by birdying the first three holes and added two more on the inward half to offset a trio of bogeys for a two-under-par 69.
The 26-year-old former England boy international and Yorkshire County player also won the Cheshire version of the event last year and tied third in the Lancashire one a month ago.
That was won by former European Tour player Mark Pilkington, from Pwllheli who tied second two shots adrift at Northcliffe with Bramall Park's Oliver Whiteley.
Hodkinson, originally attached to Hallowes, was a winner on the Alps Tour but gave up the game for three years after breaking his wrist.
"I worked as a builder for a time but my dad encouraged me to join the PGA and I moved to Chorlton where I was given the opportunity to coach," he explained.
