The PGA in England and Wales (North) is on course for an action-packed season with several new events on the schedule announced today.

And pro-ams figure high on the list with seven clubs joining the fold to add to most of the existing fixtures.

They are Moortown (above), Nefyn, Abergele, High Legh Park, Hallamshire, Lancaster and Sand Moor.

In addition, the hugely popular Lakeland Classic, revived last year after a long absence, will resume for its traditional two days at Windermere.

Conwy will replace Aberdovey and join forces with Royal St David's to provide the enduring 36-hole pro-am with a fresh impetus.

England's Golf Coast three-day pro-am also holds its place in the schedule.

And the North Region Championship at Carus Green and James Brearley Lancashire Open at Blackpool North Shore have confirmed their commitments to the Order of Merit calendar with other events awaiting confirmation.

Meanwhile, assistants' rankings events have been bolstered by three new venues, at Bolton Old Links, Northcliffe and Carlisle which take the total to seven.
