Amateur golfers have been given the chance to take on leading Tartan Tour regulars such as Greig Hutcheon in one of Scotland’s most established tournaments.
It follows the announcement by The PGA in Scotland that entries for the Northern Open at Meldrum House on August 27-29 will be accepted from amateur golfers with a handicap of scratch or better.
Any amateurs wishing to play in the 72-hole event, which was won by James Byrne last year, will be required to pre-qualify at Craigielaw Golf Club in East Lothian on Monday, August 5.
The entry fee for the qualifying round will be £35 with those who are successful in gaining entry to the tournament required to pay a further £65.
Any amateur wishing to enter may do so by telephoning the PGA in Scotland office on 01764 661840, or by e-mail pgainscotland@pga.org.uk Proof of handicap must be sent before any entry is accepted.
