Andrew George takes the spoils

Andrew George, head professional at Ely City Golf Club, won the PGA in Beds and Cambs pro-am at The Links Golf Club in Newmarket.

George, now starting his first season in the senior ranks, lives in Newmarket. He made the most of excellent conditions to produce a round of three-under-par 69.

Tom Simm, an assistant at Gog Magog Golf Club, was runner-up one shot behind. Glyn Krause of Elton Furze, another senior, took third place with level-par 72.

Lee Marshall of Gog Magog brought home the winning team of David Marris, Tony Marshall and Mike Lynch. Runners-up were Freddie Meikle of Leighton Buzzard with Phil Coombe, J R Meikle and J G Meikle.
