Alan McCloskey stepped into the spotlight again at the inaugural Scottish Golf Tourism Awards Dinner in St Andrews where he was crowned PGA in Scotland Coach of the Year.
The Bothwell Castle pro accepted the honour just a week after winning the 2014 sportscotland/South Lanarkshire Coach and Volunteer Award.
With The PGA pushing a message of ‘Right coach; Right place; Right time’ McCloskey has proved exactly that coaching players across the golfing spectrum.
PGA in Scotland secretary Brian Mair commented: “The common factor for all the players that work with Alan is that they readily acknowledge the influence and support from their coach as instrumental in their successes and essential in helping to prepare them for the challenges that still lie ahead.”
Jane Booth, The PGA’s head of coaching systems presented the 48 year old with his richly deserved trophy at the glittering ceremony at The Old Course Hotel.
