Phil Archer fired successive three under 68s to win the historic Leeds Cup for the second time in his career at Moor Allerton.

The Birchwood Golf Club pro holed three birdies on the back nine including on the 568-yard par five 18th to pocket a £2,000 winner’s cheque and two stroke victory over Pwllheli Golf Club’s Mark Pilkington who had two 69s.

Michael Ramsden (Renishaw Park) and Chris Crowder (Lee Park) shared third with five tied for fifth place including last year’s champion Garry Houston from Carden Park.

The Leeds Cup is golf's oldest professional trophy and was won by Harry Vardon in its inaugural staging in 1902.
