Baker named 2014 captain

Pat Baker is the new Captain of The PGA in Gloucestershire and Somerset after taking over from Filton’s Daryl Kelley.

The Mendip Spring pro was a latecomer to professional golf but in a short time has put in a lot of time into helping develop the game in Somerset through both the PGA setup and the Somerset Golf Partnership.

The Weston-based father of two has been long associated with Mendip Spring Golf Club since turning pro in 2006 but is soon to leave there to be part of an exciting new project in Bristol.

He will team up with his fellow PGA pro and good friend Paul Barrington as well as former Bath assistant Ross Jones as they open the InPlayGolf venture on the harbourside in Bristol.
