The Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort, based in Co Tipperary will play host to an inaugural PGA in Ireland Pro-Am on August 11.
The one-day pro-am, sponsored by Pierse Motors, is offering a prize fund of €8,000 and has attracted a high-class field including current Order of Merit leader Eamonn Brady (Clontarf) and his nearest rival, David Higgins (Waterville).
The Des Smyth designed course opened in 1993 and is set only minutes from Limerick Junction, County Tipperary in tree-sculptured surroundings against a backdrop of the Galtee Mountains.
Club PGA Professional Marian Riordan is enjoying great success with the club since taking up her role three years ago.
“I am delighted that the club is hosting its first PGA Pro-Am. We have done a lot of work on the course and I look forward to welcoming my fellow professionals and their guests to Ballykisteen Golf Club,” she said.
Pat Barrett, Ballykisteen's golf and events manager added: “It's an exciting time of year for the club, the pro-am gives us a great opportunity to showcase our wonderful course and facilities we have available for members, guests and corporate partners.”
