It is a common misconception that CPD points can only be gained by attending/completing PGA education activities. This is not the case. The PGA encourage all members to find, access and utilise education in whatever facet that may be. For instance, it could be the completion of an Online Course from Udemy, Coursera or Alison. Perhaps it is an External Event hosted by an external provider such as TPI or TrackMan. Or if you are based overseas you may be affiliated with another PGA and it could be attending education facilitated by them, i.e. PGA of Switzerland or PGA of UAE. Or maybe it’s not a ‘golf specific’ course and you are enrolled on a higher education course from a College or University.

The reality is that all of these opportunities are eligible for CPD Points and provide different ways to learn and develop dependent upon your personal preference. The priority is to ensure that this learning is relevant and beneficial to your role and business – if you can evidence that, then you are eligible for CPD Points. All you need to do is submit an External Learning Application which can be done online 24/7.

This application needs to be tailored specifically to your business/professional needs and will be assessed on the basis of content and duration. All applications must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • A copy of the course certificate (if a certificate is not provided you need to get the organiser to mail you to confirm attendance)
  • A copy of the course timetable/outline (If not present on certificate must also have details of the duration)
