Kent PGA Professional and County Golf Development Officer, Gary Bason, has developed the Kent Golf Performance Academy.
Bason focuses on swing performance, while fellow PGA Professional Joe Jezzard (Stonelees) uses the latest Flightscope and SAM PuttLab swing technology, sports psychologist Gabriela Urban deals with the mental side, and TPI physiotherapist Llewellyn Boucher advises on training techniques. Already busy with clients, the early feedback is very positive.
Bason explains the concept, “The world's best players require a team of coaches, so why not replicate that for the serious club golfers out there? KGPA is aimed at serious golfers – from aspiring higher handicap players to those with very low handicaps - who are keen to invest their time and energy into improving their game. We design a bespoke programme for each client to ensure they have the best possible chance of achieving their optimum performance.”
KGPA clients include Steven Tiley, Challenge Tour player and top ranked Kent professional, and up and coming golfer Mark Beeson, who said: "Today I had another session with KGPA, specifically Joe Jezzard and Llewellyn Boucher to see how my physical screening results compare to my actual golf swing and if any tweaks were needed to my programme.
“It was yet another great session from these guys and it was interesting to see how the two fit together. Anyone who’s serious about their golf should give these guys a go if you want to improve.”
Anyone can book a consultation to discuss how KGPA can help them achieve their golfing goals and other PGA Professionals are welcome to make contact with Bason at gary@kgpa.co.uk or Jezzard at joe@kgpa.co.uk to learn how they can use the services of the KGPA Coaching team for their own clients.
