Ben by one at Garon Park

Ben Kerr (Bourn Golf & Leisure) fired a two-under-par round of 68 to win the Garon Park Pro-Am.

Kerr made five birdies in his round to edge out the in-form Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall).

He teed off at the 15th under a shotgun start and it took until his eighth hole for him to collect a first shot against the card. 

A bogey three holes later was followed by Kerr’s decisive move: a birdie hat-trick from his 12th. 

It appeared as if a subsequent double-bogey might derail him but he birdied his penultimate hole to secure that slender success. 

David Salisbury (David Salisbury Golf) led the winning quartet in the team event on a 15-under total of 125 – one better than the next best.
