Benn barred from top spot

Kings Hill Professional Benn Barham was twice the bridesmaid on the latest American Golf Holiday Pro-Am at Pebble Beach.

The former Tour player shot rounds of 69, 74 and 74 over the Spanish Bay, Spyglass Hill and the world famous Pebble Beach for a one-over-par total but it wasn’t enough to deny PGA Europro regular Tom Shadbolt (70, 71, 73) victory by three shots.

Upminster Golf Club’s Marc Etherington was third at three-over after carding 74, 69 and 76.  However, Etherington had the consolation of winning a separate Challenge Day played over the stunning Pebble Beach Golf Links.

In the 54-hole Pro-Am team event, Simon Boyd lead his team of Simon Ingram, Toby Ingram & Oliver Ingram to victory, with Benn Barham’s team second, and Tom Shadbolt’s third.
