Sion Bebb continued his fantastic run by taking the largest cheque for a one-day West pro-am in the M J Baker Golf Day at Woodbury Park.
Claiming the £1,500 prize followed his victory in the Welsh Professional Championship at Celtic Manor and success in his previous event at The Point at Polzeath.
The 48-year-old Morlais Castle club professional again showed the form that brought success on the European Tour a decade ago. He was a later starter and benefitted from the clear sunny afternoon conditions after a wet morning when the course was subjected to heavy overnight rain.
His immaculate iron play led to six birdies in a six-under fault-free return of 67. He picked up shots at the first, followed with three in a row from the fifth, and added back to back birdies at the 16th and 17
This relegated long-time leader Lee Thompson (Dudsbury) to second one shot behind after a round containing eight birdies. Unfortunately he made double bogey at the fourth and dropped another shot at the par three 15th.
Locals Kevin Harper, from the next-door club East Devon, and Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) shared third on 69. Harper did not drop a shot and birdied the first, sixth, 14th and 16th. Hendriksen eagled the 16th and made birdies at the first, sixth, tenth. His only error came at the short 15th.
Giuseppe Licata (Chipping Sodbury) also eagled the 16th to share fifth on 70 with former Woodbury assistant Tom Jessamine (Exeter), James Ruth (China Fleet), Jon Bevan (Sherborne) who carded 16 birdies between them.
Richard O'Hanlon (St Kew) led the winning team of Simon Carr, Lee Tyrrell and Alan Clitheroe on 90 points. Jon Bevan with Kevin Phillips, Kevin Howells and Tim Williams were two behind while home teaching pro Gary Milne piloted Noel Pond, Clive Partoll and John Veale into third on 86.
