Birdie burst bags win for Simon

Three birdies in his first four holes helped Hagley’s Simon Gabbitas to victory in the Worcestershire Alliance Pro-Am at Gaudet Luce.
His one-under-par 69 saw him pip Hagley colleague Iain Clark and Adam Whiting (Ravenmeadow).
In joint fourth place with scores of 73 were Ashley Picken, trainee from the home club and Mark Slater, head Professional at Bewdley Pines.
Gabbitas also led amateurs C. Brookfield, M. Greaves and R. Stevens to victory in the team event with a score of 124 – six shots better than their nearest rivals from Bewdley Pines
led by the recently appointed assistant Alex Kotlarzewski.
