Greg McBain celebrated his 29th birthday in some style by collecting a £1,042 prize for sharing victory with Christopher Currie (Caldwell) as the leading pros in the Buchanan Castle pro-am on Saturday.
Aberdeen-based McBain, winner of last year's Paul Lawrie Invitational at Deeside, and Currie both shot six-under-par 64s, finishing two shots ahead of the field.
McBain, who represents Aberdeen golf store Gamola Golf on the Tartan Tour, posted his score with a superlative run of seven under par for his last 14 holes, during which he birdied the fifth, long sixth, short 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th and 15th.
Earlier he had bogeyed the second.
Currie proved that he too could be hot stuff when he returned a bogey-free card with birdies at the short fourth, long sixth, short 10th, long 14th, 17th and 18th.
