Eamonn Brady (Clontarf GC) and Neil O'Briain (Old Conna GC) defied blustery conditions at Rathsallagh GC to share first place in the PGA Southern Championship Pro-Am.
The duo finished on six under par, one shot ahead of Damian Mooney (Damian Mooney Golf) with the in-form Adam Dunmore (Bundoran GC) claiming fourth on four under.
With a shot-gun start in operation, Brady got underway at the 17th and fired seven birdies in total with his one dropped shot coming at the par three 14th.
O'Briain made a blistering start to his round. He began his round at the par three fourth with a par and proceeded to play the next seven holes in seven under. He eagled the par four fifth, birdied the sixth, seventh and eighth, parred the ninth and then birdied the 10th and 11th.
That scoring blast was then followed by nine pars and bogey at the par three 17th as he joined Brady at the head of affairs.
O'Briain also grabbed the team prize with his amateur partners courtesy of 97pts.
The PGA Southern Championship takes place tomorrow (Sept 19).
