Darren Bragg bagged a pair of eagles as he surged to a four-shot success in the Grim’s Dyke Golf Club Pro-Am.
The North London Golf Academy PGA Professional powered to a sizzling six-under-par 63 to win comfortably from runner-up Matthew Cousens.
Bragg teed off at the fifth, making a slow start with a bogey coming at his second hole. But he cancelled that out with a birdie at the next before surging through the gears with his first eagle at the par-five eighth – his fourth hole.
The second eagle came at the short par-four 14th and the victory procession continued with three more birdies, including one at his final hole.
Bragg’s scoring feats clearly rubbed off on his team as they also won with a tally of 122 – two better than Cousens’ quartet.
In the individual strokeplay event, Cousens (Busheu G&CC) recorded four birdies in his 67 to finish ahead of the home club’s head professional Lee Curling, who took third spot thanks to a one-under 68.
