Stuart Brown (pictured) of Orton Meadows and Phil Abbott of John O’Gaunt were joint winners of the Maylands Golf Club Pro-Am sponsored by CCV Sports and Leisure.

Both returned rounds of two-under-par 69 to beat Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range) by one hole. Both Brown and Abbott have represented the Region in the Titleist PGA Play-Offs in 2011 and last year respectively.

Fourth place in a field of 18 was taken by Mark Talbott of Thorpe Hall who had six birdies in his level par round. The only eagle of the day came from Matt Stables of North Weald Golf Club at the 296-yard par four 12th  hole.  Stables shared fifth place with Glen Kemble (Direct Golf) and Noel Quinn (Whipsnade Park) at one-over-par.

Daniel Field, head professional at East Herts Golf Club, led the winning team of James Cray, Jason Hinton and Steve Ramsbottom with 15-under-par 127.

Four teams finished with 11-under.  Second place on count back went to the team with Stables. Darren Parker, the host head professional and his amateurs were third. Teams with Abbott and Brown missed out on the prizes.
