Alistair Brown (Archerfield Links), playing in only his second Tartan Tour event of the season, earned his first cheque and a place in the Scottish PGA Championship at Gleneagles from July 28-31 at the second 18-hole qualifying contest at Crieff Golf Club.
Brown picked up the £100 first prize with a round of three-under-par 68 which included an eagle at the ninth, five birdies (fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, 10th and bogeys at the second, third, seventh and 11th.
After all that activity, he settled down to par the last seven holes to claim the No 1 position among the 14 qualifiers for the Kings Course event.
There was a play-off among the six players on the 71 mark for the last five places. Emma Fairnie (Gullane) made it through but the odd man out was Calum Smith (Royal Musselburgh).
