Former PGA Cup player Gary Brown led the way at today’s pre-qualifying for this week’s ISPS Handa PGA Seniors Championship at Close House.
Brown, of Ganton Golf Club in Yorkshire, carded a four-under-par 67 to top the leaderboard as 27 players sealed their spots in the field for Thursday.
Mark Booth (Colmworth & North Beds) and Spain’s Jose Romero Carrasco were the only other players under par after carding 70s.
A number of PGA regulars also secured their place in the £260,000 event over the Lee Westwood Colt course, which included a 12-man play-off for six places.
Amongst those qualifying are Richard Masters (Baildon), Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Centre), John King (Lindrick), while Gary Stubbington (Hockley Golf Club) and Stephen Craig (Craig Golf 79) were among the six to claim place in the shootout.
