Stuart Brown lit up the Palmerston Course at Brocket Hall with an electrifying burst of scoring to land the Captain’s Charity Invitational Pro-Am.
The Orton Meadows PGA Professional enjoyed an amazing birdie burst over five straight holes in shooting a six-under-par 67 to win by two.
Brown teed off on the 13th and had edged to one-under with six holes to play. But he picked up a stroke at the seventh and then made a two for successive birdies.
With momentum in his favour, he made light of the following two par-fives before completing his stunning scoring spree with another birdie at the 11th.
A par up the last proved good enough for Brown, who also won the Stoke Rochford Pro-Am earlier in the season.
Jason Levermore (Channels) has been in terrific form in recent pro-am play, but had to settle for second best on his latest outing. His four-under 69 included five birdies and just one bogey.
Ely City’s Andrew George, another player in good nick, was a further shot back in a tie with European Tour star Mikael Lundberg and Challenge Tour golfer Mark Laskey. George led the winning team, who totalled 130 – three better than the next best.
