Build and promote your online Find a Golf Lesson profile today!

30/06/2022

The PGA’s Find a Golf Lesson platform has proven to be a big success, with thousands of golfers using it to search for lessons since it launched.

The project was launched in September last year as part of the Association’s commitment to connect golfers looking for lessons with PGA Members.

Replacing the old ‘Find a Pro’ function, the digital platform is embedded into the home page of pga.info, enabling golfers, and non-golfers, to search for a lesson and contact PGA Members.

The platform is entirely free to use and enables you to market yourself directly to the golfing public and increase your reach.

So far more than 1,000 PGA Members have created their very own unique online profile, so don't miss out and make sure that your profile can be found by golfers searching for lessons in their local area.

As we look to improve and expand the platform further this summer, we are asking PGA Members who haven’t signed up to take full advantage of this FREE opportunity, and we are asking those who already have to bolster their profiles. A quick five minute task could bring you new customers.

How to create your profile?

  1. Visit the ‘Find a Golf Lesson’ page in the Members’ area of pga.info.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to update your details, including information about your qualifications and specialisms.
  3. Upload a suitable image/video to boost your profile.
  4. Submit your details!

How to improve your profile?

There are a number of ways you can improve your profile, which will increase your chances of landing more business/lessons through the Find a Golf Lesson platform.

Choosing a suitable profile image is essential and will help you stand out from the crowd. This is the first time potential customers will see you. Choose a portrait picture that shows people who are you. If you’ve had a professional photo taken, use it! Your main profile image should show your face clearly, it should be a recent image and ideally be taken within a professional environment such as your place of work.

You can now include links to YouTube videos which will lift your profile and make you stand out.

A good biography can really lift your profile. Be personal – Write your profile as if you are talking to someone about your abilities as a PGA Professional. Share information about the range of abilities you teach and the experience you have with these groups.

Talk about the services you offer, what lesson packages or coaching schemes you provide, and any accreditations/qualifications that make you stand out. Let potential customers know if you’re

Explain what technology and services you have at your disposal and if you offer any additional services such as custom fitting, re-gripping, club repair etc.

Lastly, finish your biography with an impactful statement to leave a good impression. This could be what you promise from your lessons or why customers should choose you as a coach.

Hear what PGA Members have to say about Find a Golf Lesson:

Matthew Pugh (John Reay Golf Centre)

“Find a Golf Lesson is a great addition to the PGA platform. I signed up as it is another way to showcase what I offer and for golfers to find me and book lessons. The process is very straightforward and after a few clicks, your profile is set up and you are ready to be found by your next client.”

Anna Smith (Bristol Golf Centre)

“Setting up my Find a Golf Lesson profile was very simple and has allowed me to reach an audience that I wouldn’t have reached without it. Within a few days of launching, I received my first lesson enquiry, which turned into a new lesson booking.”

Anders Mankert (Leicester Golf Centre)

“Signing up for Find a Golf Lesson was a simple process which only took about 15 minutes. It is a FREE marketing took which is working for me and my business. It really was a no brainer and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants their services to be more visible to potential customers.”

Find a Golf Lesson future development

Having launched last year as a ‘test and learn’ process, The PGA will be creating a dedicated, standalone platform this summer that will take the Find a Golf Lesson offering to the next level. We’ll keep Members updated as we progress and look forward to sharing more details over the coming weeks.
