Hannah Burke scorched to a six-under 66 to win at Essendon – the country club she represents on the Ladies European Tour.

Burke, who won on the LET in the Czech Republic last year, was in imperious form in the Essendon CC Pro-Am.

The Hertfordshire star didn’t drop a shot and finished in real style after turning for home at one-under.

Burke made a birdie at the 10th and topped that with an eagle at the long 13th. And she poured it on at the end, closing out with back-to-birdies at 17 and 18.

It was a classy performance that was almost matched by James Webber (Three Rivers G&CC) just a day after his Order of Merit triumph around the same course.

Webber also compiled a flawless round, carding three birdies and an eagle in his 67. He got it to five-under with six holes to play but couldn’t quite squeeze out further gains, leaving Burke as the winner.

There was a three-way tie for third place with Ian Campbell (Cheshunt Park), Chris Cutchie (Colchester) and David Salisbury (Three Rivers G&CC) all signing for respective e 68s.

Campbell’s quartet won the pro-am on a score of 127 – one clear of Cutchie’s team.
