Campbell and Levers share top spot

Ian Campbell (Cheshunt Park) and Jason Levermore (Channels) finished at the head of the leaderboard at the Haverhill Pro-Am.

The duo shot respective three-under-par 67s – one better than David Salisbury (Three Rivers G&CC) and Laurence Allen (Verulam).

Campbell looked to be on course for a very low score after getting to four-under through eight holes. But the Order of Merit leader’s challenge faltered a little on the back nine before he signed off with a birdie at the closing par-4.

Levermore made the turn in one-under, despite dropping shots at the first and ninth.  But he made good progress on the inward nine, making two birdies – including at the last – to record his 67.

The best of the afternoon starters was Allen whose 68 saw him record a second top-three finish in a week.

Sufian Dhaduk (Stanmore & Edgware Golf Centre) led the victorious team on a total of 124.
