A rare still day greeted the PGA in Essex on our visit to the delightful but difficult Aldeburgh course which has a very stiff par of 68 with no par fives.
Veteran Sean Carter from Epping Golf Club showed the way by shooting level par which was good enough to take the spoils by one shot from comparative youngster Chris Goddard of Romford Golf Club. Third place on two-over was shared by Mark Baker from Colchester Golf Club and Robbie Coles from Maylands.
Carter put his win down to a complete overhaul of his game and many hours of practice with new equipment. Second place for Chris Goddard was enough to take him to the top of the Order of Merit ahead of four others sharing second place.
