The Lancashire County Golf Partnership’s campaign to get more people into the game is gaining momentum.
Less than three months since its launch, 13 clubs and driving ranges have signed up to become development centres.
Many of them have started to deliver the Get into Golf aims of increasing adult participation for complete beginners to those returning to the sport.
They are offering low cost group coaching sessions, for as little as £25 spread over five weeks, conducted by PGA Professionals.
Coaching and membership opportunities will also follow allowing a complete beginner a pathway from hitting their first ball through to playing golf on a regular basis.
Iain Lancaster, the LCGP development officer, said: “We’re delighted with the response so far and we are confident more centres will grasp the opportunity through Get into Golf and bring beginners through a successful pathway into club membership.
“Starting out in group sessions alongside other people in a similar situation is a great way of learning together and making new friends.”
They clubs and centres are: Ashton Golf Centre, Lancaster; Tee Time Golf Centre, Blackpool; Lytham Golf Academy; Fulwood Driving Range & Golf Academy, Preston; Southport Golf Academy; Aintree Golf Centre; Golf Rossendale Driving Range and Academy; Manchester Golf Club; Trafford Golf Centre; Astley Driving Range, Wigan; North West Golf Academy, Westhoughton; Haigh Hall Golf Complex, Wigan; Chilli Dip Golf, Blackrod.
