Challoner’s hole-in-one joy

Black Country golfer Richard Challoner bagged a hole-in-one at The Chase Pro Am, played at The Chase Golf Club in Penkridge.

Challoner, from the Mark Butler Golf Academy in Sedgley, hit his ace at the 157-yard par 3 sixth – but it wasn’t enough to earn him the winner’s cheque.

That went to Lincoln Golf Centre’s Paul Streeter who carded a six-under-par 66 – two shots clear of Royal Liverpool’s Ian Keenan.

Challoner had to settle for a share of third space after completing the Staffordshire course in a three-under-par 69, the same score as Little Aston’s Brian Rimmer.

It was a good say for the Sedgley golf centre with Mark Butler also among the leaders after shooting a 71.
