Charlie Luther’s superb summer continued with a convincing triumph in the Leighton Buzzard GC Pro-Am.
Luther won by an emphatic four shots to follow up his tie at the top earlier this month at the Saffron Walden Pro-Am.
The assistant PGA Professional at Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club signed for a sizzling 66 on the par-71 lay-out.
He raced to the turn in four-under-par before a double bogey six at the 10th threatened to derail his victory bid.
But Luther overcame that blip in brilliant style, making birdie at the next two holes. He picked up a further stroke at the 16th and reached the clubhouse in five-under-par.
David Griffiths (Oxhey Park) and Paul Hetherington (Great Hadham) were the only other two players to break par, shooting respective rounds of 70 to share second spot.
James Scade (Ingrebourne Links) led the successful team with a 127 tally – one better than three other quartets.
