Cipa dominates at Burnham on Crouch

South Essex Golf Centre’s Steve Cipa conquered strong wins to card an impressive 66 at the Burnham on Crouch pro-am.

His four-under-par score around the picturesque venue was good enough to win by a clear five shots from the trio of James Webber from Three Rivers, Mark Stokes from Rayleigh Golf Range and James Scade from Ingrebourne Links.

This result gives James Webber a clear lead in the PGA in Essex Order of Merit although a visit to the Cheltenham Festival will mean that he misses the next event at Toot Hill.

The team event was closely fought with three teams tied on 81 points, the winning team on countback was steered home by PGA Professional Sam Ellis from North Weald Golf Club.
