Classic display by Wootton

Adam Wootton (Oxford Golf Centre) took the early lead in the BB&O PGA Order of Merit with a fine win at the Spring Classic held at the Oxfordshire.

Under difficult scoring conditions, Wootton was the only player to break the stern Oxfordshire par with a two-under-par  70 to finish two strokes clear of Paul Simpson (West Berks) with last year’s Order of Merit winner Guy Woodman a further stroke back on 73.

This trio now hold the upper hand in the race to represent the BB&O in the SkyCaddie PGA England & Wales Inter County Championship later this year with the match play and professionals’ championships being the other two qualifying tournaments.
