England Awards

PGA pros are being urged to nominate themselves for England Golf’s Coach of the Year award.

The England Golf Awards were first held last year and recognise coaches and organisations who work to improve the sport’s future.

In respect of PGA Members, the award aims to identify a pro whose passion and commitment helps grow the game.

Nominees must demonstrate how they inspire new players, support existing golfers and realise the ambitions and potential of promising talent.

Coaches must also be able to show how they have developed their own skills, as well as new ideas and initiatives.

Last year both Ben Knight (Chartham Park Golf Club) and James Verrall (Haywards Heath Golf Club) won the Club Coach of the Year accolade.

Nominations are invited for seven award categories in total. The other categories are: Club of the Year, Most Welcoming Golf Club, County of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Ambassador of the Year and the Lifetime Service Award.

This year the Awards will be celebrated at a glitzy ceremony at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on Thursday, 22 February 2018.

For more information or to nominate yourself for the ‘Coach of the Year’ award visit www.englandgolfawards.org. The closing date for nominations is midnight on Thursday November 30, 2017.
