A year on from the regional roll-out and Kendal McWade and Steven Orr are back with an updated Coaching What You Can’t See 1-day workshop.
The workshop – which was included and highly praised as part of last year’s England Regional Winter CPD Programme – is set to build on the success of 2015 by sharing the insights and experiences gained over the past 12 months.
When asked about the workshop this is what Kendal had to say:
“Whilst the workshop’s content will remain the same as last year, we have learned and experienced so much over the past 12 months that we can’t wait to revisit and deliver the session to more PGA Professionals.
“Our aim is to build on the strengths by including more practical elements and, as we are a year on, we can now share even more case studies with delegates. In fact, we are hoping that those that attended last year will come back and share their thoughts and experiences with the group. I would actually encourage delegates from last year, or any delegate, to bring along anything they want to discuss – happy to build that into the day.”
The workshop itself goes to the heart of golf coaching by looking at the core of skill development. According to Kendal:
“It is our belief that the development of skill goes beyond what you can see (the swing) and that the coach of the future will have a very sound knowledge of the learner and the learning environment. This seminar aims to explore this idea in detail and gets to the heart of how we actually learn skills. How do we create technical change in a sustainable and meaningful way? How do we create an environment where golfers can support themselves when playing and practicing on their own?”

The workshop is taking place at The PGA National Training Academy on 30 November 2016. Available to PGA Professionals at the heavily subsidised rate of £42 you can book ONLINE HERE.
