PGA Assistant Michael Cooke delivered a dazzling display of target golf to win the Topgolf Pairs Pro-Am with 390 points, 52 more than his nearest rival and Topgolf Surrey colleague, PGA Head Professional Jamie Savory. The Topgolf employees also enjoyed success in the team event with both players partnering with their fathers.

Savory was delighted with the night’s success, saying: “This gets better every year. Last night we had close to 100 people including 64 competitors having a great time, with the whole event held within the bays and our own function rooms, The Bunker and The Loft which were merged for the evening.”

He continued: “While others are trying to make golf cool and more time-friendly, Topgolf’s already turning golf into an hour or so of 21st century entertainment. Our format bridges the gap between casual and serious golfers, so our Pairs Pro-Am was a great success, made even better with lots of juniors involved.”

The Topgolf Pairs Pro-Am format of TopPressure, TopBreak and TopGolf is the same one guests play every day. Cooke commented, “There was a fantastic buzz about the whole evening, playing in front of your group, having drinks and food served you by your bay hostess, music playing – it’s golf, but exactly what the game needs to open it up to a much wider family audience.”

Cooke and Savory took home cheques for £450 and £300 respectively, and thanks to Callaway and Your Golf Travel this year’s top prizes for the winning team of Savory and father Graham were a Callaway XR16 driver and a UK golf break at Whittlebury Park Golf Club for four. Cooke and his father Andrew were runners up, taking home Callaway golf bags and a voucher for a four ball at Kingswood Golf Club.
